Tony Wenman, the Society's chairman, trained as a teacher at Winchester, where he sang regularly in the cathedral choir. He still appreciates any opportunity to sing with visiting choirs in cathedrals. For many years he has been organist at the United Reformed Church in Kingston upon Thames.
His professional career included some years as head of a primary school before becoming a school inspector in a South London education authority. He worked for some time as an OFSTED inspector, but now, in retirement, he is involved in promoting critical thinking in religious and spiritual education at King's College, London, where, in 2006, he completed his Doctor of Philosophy degree.

Jim Forrest is the Treasurer of CCS. He has been singing as a tenor with Claygate Choral Society since 1997 and has enjoyed every minute of it. Fifty years ago he sang in his school choir in Westminster Abbey which developed his love of church music and the Forrest fire has been rekindled by coming to Claygate and being part of such a good local choir. He became Treasurer of CCS in 2007.
In his professional life Jim has been a science teacher and deputy headteacher and he is now an educational consultant. Besides music, his interests include his family (human and feline), meteorology, astronomy and sport, in particular running around the beautiful Claygate countryside.

Olivia Lynch is the Secretary of Claygate Choral Society. Having always loved being in a choir at school, particularly the experience of singing in large scale works, she was very happy to join Claygate Choral Society in 2008. As well as greatly enjoying the singing and performances, she is happy to be contributing to the running of the choir, managing to fit this in with a busy schedule as a doctor and mother of three young children. |
